How does it work?
WebCatcher is enabled through the WebCatcher Tab in the Log Server Configuration interface. Customers can elect to send all Uncategorized sites to Websense for review, or only those identified as
potential adult material. WebCatcher identifies the selected sites and posts them to a secure Websense web site. Websense's Digital Fingerprinting software technology and web analysts review, aggregate
and prioritize sites for addition to the Websense Master Database. All database enhancements triggered by WebCatcher submissions are made available to all Websense customers through the daily database
download process. Each Websense customer receives the benefit of the aggregated surfing patterns of the entire Websense customer community. WebCatcher is a parallel process that doesn't interfere with
the normal filtering operations of Websense and is included with every Websense Enterprise subscription.
Is it anonymous?
Yes, user-level information is not included in the information WebCatcher sends to Websense. When customers enable WebCatcher, only the selected URLs and the associated number of requests are
transmitted to Websense.
How fast will you add sites to the database?
Will the sites be added to my database only or all customers?
All Websense customers receive the benefit of database enhancements resulting from WebCatcher submissions. Sites are added to the database and made available to all Websense customers through normal
daily database downloads.
Do I have to pay to use it?
